It could be easy to assume that slabs in arid environments won’t suffer from moisture intrusion. But water is a powerful force.
We recently tested a slab in Arizona and 11 of the 22 relative humidity tests we placed had a reading over 99%. This moisture is causing the current flooring to fail shortly after installation. Oftentimes, it’s the landscaping or roof drains that are the culprit! If water isn’t directed away from the foundation, it could greatly affect the flooring…even if the environment seems dry or if the slab is “old so it must be dry.”
